You might be visited this holiday season by the ghosts of Christmas gift ideas. Do not feel dispirited, because this bread maker gift guide will present you with a few ideas for filling up the empty spaces beneath the Christmas tree. There is still time to mend your miserly ways.
Introduction
I decided to present my choices a bit differently. It is very loosely inspired by “A Christmas Carol”, written by Charles Dickens.
I know that there were no electric bread machines in the original story. It was not invented yet. Nevertheless, here are my bread maker gift ideas.
Cheap Bread Machine For Christmas
Bob Cratchit is Scrooge’s clerk. Unfortunately, he is underpaid and overworked. He also has a family to feed, which includes Tiny Tim, so he needs an affordable bread machine for Christmas.
Bob might consider the Sunbeam 5891 which is a popular but affordable bread maker (I reviewed it here). It can bake a 2-pound bread loaf, which should be enough to feed his family.
The Sunbeam 5981 has an Expressbake cycle which makes a bread loaf quickly in only one hour. Great for when Bob has to prepare a fresh bread loaf when he comes home at night with ink-stained fingers feeling cold, tired and hungry. He can even use the 13-hour delay timer function to make a bread loaf for breakfast on Christmas Day.
Unlike Bob Cratchit, you have the ability to buy the Sunbeam 5891 bread maker online at Amazon (paid link).
Small Bread Machine For Christmas
Ebenezer Scrooge is a real piece of work. He is a miserable, misanthropic, miserly, money-loving moneylender. Did I leave anything out? I ran out of descriptive words starting with the consonant “M”. Maybe I should start at the beginning of the alphabet with the letter “A”.
Nevertheless, Ebenezer Scrooge eventually learned his lesson and became a more generous and compassionate human being due to the tough love attitude of the four ghosts and the memories and visions they shared with him.
I assume Scrooge has got some cash stashed away under his mattress. He might be able to buy a more expensive bread machine for Christmas than poor Bob Cratchit. However, he only needs a small bread maker for a single person since he lives alone and has no family. A compact 1-pound bread maker, such as the Zojirushi BB-SSC10 Home Bakery Maestro, will suit his miserly needs (read the BB-SSC10 review).
The Zojirushi BB-SSC10 mini bread machine bakes a one pound bread loaf in its vertical baking pan. Its control panel offers a lot of menu options such as White, European, Whole Wheat, Multigrain, Gluten Free, Salt Free, Sugar Free, Vegan, Pasta Dough, Cake and Homemade. Scrooge might actually enjoy making his own bread because it might appeal to his frugal nature.
To sum up, Scrooge can definitely scrounge up the extra cash needed to buy the Zojirushi BB-SSC10 Home Bakery Maestro mini bread maker (check price on Amazon – paid link).
Bread Machine Of Christmas Past
The first bread maker that comes to mind is the Zojirushi BB-CEC20 Home Bakery Supreme (read full review). It bakes a 2-pound loaf in its rectangular baking pan with dual kneading blades.
The horizontal bread pan might be its best feature because the bread loaf it produces has a rectangular shape instead of the squarish loaf shape of most other electric bread makers.
However, the bread pan shape makes the Zojirushi BB-CEC20 large and heavy. It also costs more than 200 dollars, which puts it beyond the grasp of Bob Cratchit. Unless Mr. Scrooge increases Bob’s wage by an extraordinary amount, he will never be able to afford a Zojirushi bread machine.
Many people will have fond memories of using this expensive, but excellent, Zojirushi bread machine. Nevertheless, this bread making ghost from the past is still lingering around and haunting the online marketplace. Shop now on Amazon (paid link).
Bread Machine Of Christmas Present
I instinctively choose the Zojirushi BB-PDC20 Home Bakery Virtuoso Plus bread maker (reviewed here) as the very best bread machine for the current Christmas season.
This dual paddle bread machine makes 2-pound traditional loaves in its horizontal baking pan. Unlike the BB-CEC20, it has an extra heating element in its lid to ensure that the bread loaf crust is evenly browned from top to bottom.
The Zojirushi BB-PDC20 haunts the online marketplace with an expensive price, good reviews, high ratings, horizontal loaf pan and double kneading blades (check price on Amazon – paid link).
Bread Machine Of Christmas Yet To Come
It is difficult to predict the best bread machine of the future because appliances are not set in stone. Newer bread maker models are slowly added while older models are discontinued. Who knows what the future holds for bread machines?
For example, the Breville BBM800XL Custom Loaf with its automatic fruit and nut dispenser, collapsible paddle and LCD screen might give a hint of new features for future bread machines. The automatic dispenser is convenient for automatically adding mixed nuts or fruit to a Christmas bread recipe! You may read the BBM800XL review to learn more about this shiny bread machine.
Christmas Bread Recipes
You might use your bread machine to bake a festive bread loaf for the Christmas table this holiday season. You could try Christmas bread recipes for pumpkin bread, gingerbread or even eggnog bread. However, you might want to buy a bread machine with a fruit and nut dispenser which will add the extra ingredients automatically.
Thank you so much for reading this bread maker gift guide for Christmas. Happy Holidays!
